BCU Star Awards

In 2008 CT will be running the new BCU 4 and 5 Star Awards.   Please visit the BCU website (www.bcu.org.uk) for more information on the new syllabi and course pre-requisites.

4 Star Leader Award - Training (New BCU/UKCC syllabus)

A 2 day training course designed to prepare candidates for the 4 Star Leader Assessment. Course content will include personal paddling and leadership skills on moderate water.  At the end of the course, candidates will be given feedback to help towards their assessment.

4 Star Leader Award - Assessment (New BCU/UKCC syllabus)

This 2 day assessment will confirm if candidates have the skills to safely paddle and lead others on sections of moderate water.

5 Star Leader Award - Assessment (New BCU/UKCC syllabus)

This 2 day assessment focuses on personal ability, leadership and safety skills in discipline specific advanced environments. 

The 5 Star Assessment is dependant on suitable water levels and may need to be rescheduled if river levels are too low.

** The Canolfan Tryweryn 5 Star Leader Award Training course fulfils the Personal Paddling and Leadership requirements, the Safety & Rescue requirement can be met by attending an BCU Advanced Whitewater Safety & Rescue.
