Level 3 – New Syllabus

2008 will see the introduction of the new BCU/UKCC Level 3 training courses, with the first assessments being later on in the year. The new BCU/UKCC scheme will be modular in design and at Level 3 Training this will consist of two elements:-

• Generic Coaching Module

• Applied Coaching Modules – these are discipline specific e.g. white water kayak

We will be running these modules as separate courses and students need to attend the Generic Coaching Module before attending any of the Applied Coaching Modules.

Central Registration

To be able to attend a ‘’New’ Level 3 Applied Coach Module you must have centrally registered with your governing body (BCU/WCA/SCA). To centrally register you must complete a CR form (available from the BCU/WCA/SCA) and return it along with copies of your pre-requisites. Your governing body will then stamp the form and return it to you. You will be unable to attend an Applied Coach Module without a stamped CR form.

Level 3 Generic Coach Module (New BCU/UKCC Syllabus)

This course is aimed at Level 2 coaches who want to improve and develop their coaching skills up to Level 3 standard. Being a generic course it is open to all disciplines, exploring the fundamentals of good coaching behaviour, from skills breakdown to different learning styles.

The combination of this course with the Level 3 Applied Coach Module constitutes the new BCU Level 3 Training in that discipline.
