Sun Kosi

A Raft Supported Trip Descending the Nepalese River of Gold

In 1980 a team of British and Australian Kayakers finished the first complete descent of the Sun Kosi, Nepal. This October Level 5 coach Andy Hall, a member of the 1980 expedition, and Level 5 coach Phil Blain, pioneer of steep white water paddling, will return to Nepal to paddle the Sun Kosi once again. Join them for 10 days of paddling, coaching, storytelling and culture on this fantastic grade 3+ (4) run.

Who can come?

The trip is open to all paddlers capable of handling Grade 3+ rapids. A reliable roll is is recommended. A sense of adventure is essential and a desire to experience a country that offers so much more than paddling.

Why should I choose this trip?

Trip Leaders Phil Blain and Andy Hall are two of the UK's most inspirational white water paddlers and coaches, pushing hard white water since the early 1980s. They pioneered a sport we now take for granted and accumulated some great stories along the way. Their experience in Nepal and the surrounding area is the stuff of paddling legend. There is no better team to guide you through the full Nepalese experience and 10 day descent of the Sun Kosi than Phil and Andy.
