The National White Water Centre is near Bala in North Wales, in the United Kingdom. Below are maps, directions and transport advice to help you find your way here as easily as possible.

By Car
From Llangollen follow the A5 to Corwen, 1 ½ miles through Corwen take the left turning to Bala (A494). At Bala turn right towards Trawsfynydd (A4212). Drive 3 miles to the village of Frongoch, just 1 mile past Frongoch we are signposted on the left.

From Bangor head for Betws Y Coed on the A5, bear right on the junction for the A470 (north), pass Pentrefoelas and Glasfryn. 3 miles later turn right onto B4501 signposted Bala. After around 7 miles on this road, turn right at T-junction onto A4212 towards Trawsfynydd. Around 1 mile up this road we are signposted on the left.

From Aberystwyth through Machynlleth on the A478 towards Corris. Descend to “Cross Foxes Inn” and at the T-junction turn left onto A470 follow the road towards Dolgellau and turn right onto the A494 signposted Bala. Bear left at village of Llanuwchllyn and follow the lake round to Bala. At Bala follow Trawsfynydd signs A4212. Drive 3 miles to the village of Frongoch, just 1 mile past Frongoch we are signposted on the left.

Cardiff to Frongoch - 3hr 40min - 148.1miles
Edinburgh to Frongoch - 5hr 10min - 286.4miles
Newcastle-Upon-Tyne to Frongoch - 4hr 12min - 227.6miles
Taunton to Frongoch - 4hr 18min - 226.1miles

By Rail
Nearest main railway stations are Chester, Shrewsbury, Aberystwyth and Bangor. Regional services are available to Barmouth and Wrexham. Travel by road is then essential. The main stations are about 1 to 1 ½ hours from The National White Water Centre.

By Sea
For visitors from Ireland the nearest port is Holyhead, Anglesey (Caergybi, Ynys Môn). From Holyhead travel time by car is approximately 1 ½ hours to the Centre.

By Air
Many airports now offer regional flights. The closest airports to the Centre are Manchester and Liverpool which are about 1hour to 1 ½ hours from the Centre.
