Kayakers and canoeists visiting the National White Water Centre come to paddle the River Tryweryn; Britain’s most reliable source of natural grade 3-4 white water.  From its source in the mountains of Snowdonia the Tryweryn flows into the River Dee at Bala.  Its been a popular canoeing river for 40 years and attracts tens of thousands of paddlers each year.

A walk around the centre would find paddlers taking part in a broad spectrum of white water activities ranging from a recreational paddle to Bala, coaching courses to improve white water skills or a tandem kayak taster experience to training for national ranking competitions such as canoe slalom, wild water racing or freestyle. The variety of canoeing is reflected in the events which take place each year ranging from national ranking events and canoeing festivals to an Easter Egg hunt for our regular recreational paddlers.

The menu on the left hand side of this page covers all aspects of canoeing and kayaking on the Tryweryn; whether it’s booking your own canoeing experiences, coaching or training, information about events or useful information for independent paddlers planning a paddle down the Tryweryn.
